Bertie County Retired School Personnel  (BCRSP) is a local unit of North Carolina Retired School Personnel (NCRSP), a division of the North Carolina  Association of Educators (NCAE).​  Membership in BCRSP includes all categories of retired school system employees, certified and noncertified.

 

We currently have 49 members.The Executive Board consists of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Membership Chair.

We are also associated with other organizations that promote and provide information of mutual concerns such as the National Retired Teachers Association (NRTA) and the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP).

​

We participate in several community and school activities such as: (1) recognize school staff during American Education Week (2) support Bertie County Schools with a mentoring program (3) serve as proctors during testing at Bertie High (4) toy donation to disadvantaged students at Christmas (5) participate in Read Across America at local schools  (6) assisted with Autistic Workshop and Breast Cancer Awareness and (7) joined with NCAE to share retirement benefits of NCRSP.

​​​​​​The past year has been very challenging for us because of the pandemic. However, we are dedicated to meeting the needs of our retired members in alternate ways.  We are an organization dedicated to providing retirement with dignity, promoting quality education, and advocating for human, civic and economic rights for all. We are constantly seeking efforts to achieve maximum potential of our organization while aligning Bertie County’s Association with the Region’s and the State’s Retired Personnel.

We will work very hard to maintain the standards of being one of the leading statewide associations. We will collectively help to enhance retirement and health care benefits and to support the community with its educational needs.

 

Bertie County’s NCRSP Association accepts the challenge to be held accountable for the 7 primary goals of Region 7A. We are committed to match the goals to members making up committees that will utilize their expertise and resources to obtain success for the association.
